The Pokémon Company just, like, let it slip that you can actually play a demo of Pokémon Legends Z-A at Gamescom 2025. Cool, right?
So, picture this: you’re at Gamescom, probably munching on a pretzel or something, and there it is — a demo for this new game on the Nintendo Switch 2. Honestly, I’m still wrapping my mind around the fact there’s even a Switch 2. Oh, and you can also, you know, learn some card tricks — Pokémon TCG. Maybe you’ll get hooked on Pokémon UNITE? Could go either way.
The social media announcement kinda threw me, though. It’s like, “Hey, come try Pokémon-Legends: Z-A, and also we’ll teach you Pokémon TCG, there’s a Play Lab, and think Mega Evolution stuff!” It’s all happening so fast, like they want to shout it from the rooftops.
And then there’s the whole Gamescom spectacle, packed into Cologne’s Koelnmesse, doing its thing from August 20-24, 2025. I always imagine it as this tech carnival, where everyone’s either lost or in awe. Kinda makes your head spin just thinking about it.
Pokémon Legends Z-A itself? It’s set in Lumiose City. Love that place! They’re doing some city overhaul project, making it Pokémon-and-people-friendly. You kick things off with one of those cute starter Pokémon — Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile. Those names alone are a mouthful, huh? Like picking a starter isn’t already the hardest decision ever.
The release slated for October 16, 2025, both physical (because, yeah, some folks still love holding things) and on the Nintendo eShop.
And, um, oh yeah — there’s a trailer too, but you might need to dive down the YouTube rabbit hole for that one.
Anyway, Pokémon just feels like it’s always been there, right? Even if we can’t remember where or why we noticed it first. Funny how that happens.
