HoYoverse just dropped a bombshell during the Genshin Impact 5.8 livestream. I mean, finally, Electro-Charged might actually be worth talking about, ya know? They introduced this fresh reaction thing called Lunar-Charged. Honestly, it almost feels like it’s tailor-made for characters like Ororon, who, let’s face it, haven’t really had their time to shine with Electro-Charged—until now.
So, what’s the deal with this Lunar-Charged reaction? Well, it’s tied to Ineffa, the shiny new 5-star Electro character. When you trigger Electro-Charged—yep, that’s when Hydro and Electro have a little meeting—Ineffa’s first passive talent does some magic. It morphs it into Lunar-Charged. What does that mean? Imagine a storm cloud that zaps out Electro damage at enemies already soaked in Electro or Hydro. And guess what? Those zaps can crit. Ineffa makes sure they hit harder, ‘cause they’re scaled with her attack stat.
Now, this is kinda cool—Ineffa’s actually the first Nod-Krai character in the game. Nod-Krai? It’s the new place the Traveler’s jetting off to after the version 5.8 update wraps up. If Lunar-Charged becomes a full-time gig over there, it wouldn’t be surprising. Honestly, HoYoverse seems to love dropping new tricks with every new region. Remember Sumeru? Yeah.
Now, the real question is—will this make Electro-Charged the next big thing? Might be. Up until now, it’s been kinda… Meh? Take Burning and Burgeon—they got a facelift—but Electro-Charged was kinda left to fend for itself. Not cool. Crystallize, well, let’s not even go there. Unless you have Navia, that is. But let’s not sidetrack.
Ineffa’s set to make her grand entrance in Genshin 5.8 starting July 30, 2025. And if you’re always on the hunt for secrets in Teyvat, don’t forget to check out the latest on Genshin Impact codes. Also, if you’re prepping for battle, our Ifa and Escoffier builds guides might be just what you need.
And there it is—Lunar-Charged. Maybe the dawn of a new Electro-Charged era? Probably. Who knows? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
