Alright, so there’s this thing called Parasol Superstars. No idea why it grabbed my attention, but here we are. The folks at ININ (whoever they are) just said they’re launching it digitally on September 16. Oh, and there’s a physical version too. Something about Strictly Limited Games. But I digress.
Here’s the deal: it’s actually a mash-up of two games—Parasol Stars and Spica Adventure. Yeah, both of them in one package. Wild, right?
Parasol Stars
Remember those bubble dragons, Bub and Bob? I swear I played this like forever ago. Well, they’ve dusted them off, slapped them into human form—I’m not making this up—and here they are again. Magic parasols and stuff. They’re out there saving planets or something. Seriously, I wonder who thought umbrellas could be so versatile. Blows my mind.
Spica Adventure
Now, there’s this other thing, Spica Adventure. Nico’s your main character. She’s all decked out in pink with, you guessed it, another magical parasol. It’s like she’s battling toys? Kind of adorable and confusing at the same time. Oh, Japan, never change. This one never left Japan before, so it’s kind of a big deal. New consoles, all shiny and updated. Exciting, huh?
What’s the Catch?
Okay, so besides the nostalgia trip, here’s what they’re tossing in: both games are revamped. Think modern perks—controller support, quality-of-life updates, and the whole shebang. There’s even couch co-op for Parasol Stars. Totally takes you back, right? Plus, they’re throwing in a special edition with an artbook and soundtrack. Because, of course, they are.
If you’re itching to grab it, pre-orders are open. PS5, Nintendo Switch, take your pick. Do with this info what you will. Me? I might just keep this parasol obsession to myself.
