EA and DICE just tossed out the Battlefield 6 trailer. And it’s… here. On YouTube. Literally right after they told us what the game’s gonna be called. So, what do we see? A sneak peek at the vibe, the place, and who’s gonna be throwing punches. But, yeah, not exactly the kind of bombshells Battlefield fans were hoping for. Bummer, right?
Now, one thing I noticed… no release date. Nada. The focus? All single-player campaign stuff, hopping around the globe—from the USA and beyond. Pax Armata, the bad guys, pop up too. But here’s a funny thing, the real multiplayer drama is saved for later, specifically July 31. Apparently, that’s a shindig led by various game devs from Battlefield Studios giving us the lowdown for the first time. Who’d have thought?
And yeah, EA’s teasing us to expect some juicy details—core features, maps, you name it. Maybe this is where we find out about some battle royale action? And, in good ol’ Call of Duty flair, streamers will be blasting gameplay across the world. What a show.
Open beta, anyone? Didn’t spill any new beans on that front today either. That bit’s gonna be loads of players’ first chance to actually fiddle with the game before it drops, since previous Battlefield Labs have been kinda exclusive.
There’s another twist though. This beta… it’s like a compass for the developers—it’s tackling whether guns should stick to classes. In classic Battlefield style, that is. DICE wants everyone using any weapon. It’s got fans all worked up—some not big fans of this idea. You’ll get some signature weapon attraction for class loyalty, but seriously, is that gonna cut it?
In beta, you get two playlists—one where weapons are class-locked, another free-for-all. Might stick around till launch, but the whole scene? It’s more about testing the waters and checking who’s digging what.
Anyway, Battlefield 6 has a lot riding on its success. EA is eyeing 100 million players! Aiming to bring back fans who might’ve felt a bit let down by Battlefield 2042. Interesting journey ahead, that’s for sure.
