Sony’s got this massive summer sale going on in the PS Store. And guess what? They’ve thrown more goodies into the mix. Seriously, it’s like a treasure chest of cheap thrills for PS4 and PS5, including this 2015 action-adventure that’s somehow tied to some epic movies. Weird, right?
## Mad Max for Just $4.99, What???
So, Mad Max. Yep, you remember, the wasteland dude. Made by Avalanche Studios, and Warner Bros. Interactive doing the publish thing. It’s down to $4.99 now. Like, slashed from its usual $19.99! But hang on, it’s not around forever. You’ve got until August 14, 2:59 a.m. ET to snag it. In case you’re the type who forgets dates… like me. Haha.
Right, so you get to be Mad Max – this lone wolf in a brutal, post-apocalyptic arena. Cars are basically your best friends here, right? Yeah, you’re battling it out, scavenging like a raccoon in a garbage can, trying to just survive the chaos. There’s Max, wanting to ditch all this madness for something peaceful (don’t we all?). Anyway, he’s off trying to find some mythic “Plains of Silence.” Sound hauntingly beautiful, if not utterly imaginary.
When it first appeared, folks were kinda meh about Mad Max. Metacritic — honestly, never figured out how they come up with scores — pinned it at a cool 69 from 71 critics. We played it, slapped an 8 outta 10 on it, because why not? It’s fun, with chaotic brawls and car battles. Plus, the upgrades are addictive. Yeah, the charm wears off eventually, like tired sneakers, but hey, it’s a solid ride till then.
And that’s that. Sony’s sale has its gems — dive in, get distracted, and maybe end up with a game (or ten) you can’t believe you forgot existed. Until next time, happy bargain hunting.
