Sure thing! Here it goes:

So, here we are again with the whole Borderlands Online archival thing. It’s this little band of folks, trying to bring this game back to life. They’ve gathered some wizards with code—especially those who speak the language of DNSpy and Unity Ripper. The goal: smash through the game’s character selection screen. Sounds easy, right? Except it totally isn’t.
Last time we chatted about this, there was this YouTuber, EpicNNG. Game designer and dataminer. You get the picture. He actually got as far as the class selection screen, which is a pretty big deal. But now he’s stuck. Not because he can’t do it—it’s more like there just aren’t enough hours in his day. They’ve got the game just sitting there, waiting to be revived. If only they had more people. He’s said as much: “Look, we have the game—100%. We know it. We’re gonna crack it. It’s just a matter of when.”
Oh, and let’s just pause right here. They dug up all kinds of spooky stuff going through these old Chinese Borderlands Online sites. Talk about sketchy ghost links and malware. Seriously, only dive into this if you know your code from your cookies.
Now, here’s the thing. All those disclaimers in the video? Yeah, they’re saying this is purely for archival love. Not looking to poke the legal bear, otherwise known as 2K. But with Borderlands 4 on the horizon, there’s definitely a clock ticking thanks to legal what-ifs. EpicNNG knew I’d put this out there after we DM’d (yes, he’s cool with it), so it’s all above board.
He’s feeling the heat. Activision did this whole takedown on a Call of Duty mod that was stealing the spotlight from their upcoming title. So, same fear here: fix the game, before 2K thinks it threatens Borderlands 4 and sends in the lawyer squad.
If they pull this off, it would be a game archivist’s dream come true. Digging up a Chinese-only MMORPG that’s been buried for years isn’t exactly your everyday task. It’s a lofty mission, let’s be real. Fingers crossed the right eyes see this and pitch in—unless you’re, you know, all thumbs when it comes to Unity. Best to let the pros handle it and cheer from the sidelines.
