Whoa, so I just watched this intro video for “No Sleep For Kaname Date” — that game from AI: The Somnium Files. You know the one? I blame it for my lack of sleep now, which is ironic. Anyway, it’s gonna be on both Nintendo Switch and… wait for it… Nintendo Switch 2. Yeah, that’s right. Didn’t even know that was a thing yet, but guess what? Here we are.
So the game kicks off right after resolving those New Cyclops Serial Killings. And get this, Iris Sagan — or A-set, to her internet fans — gets snagged by a UFO! Like, what?? She’s thrown into this wacky escape game called The Third Eye. Meanwhile, outta nowhere, someone finds this coffin-like gadget in the city with a creepy note, “Psync me.” Seriously, who comes up with this stuff?
Enter Kaname Date. A special agent who’s gotta solve this mess, and of course, it ain’t a walk in the park. He’s got Aiba, his AI-Ball buddy, to help him save Iris. Listen, I’m not saying I want a talking eyeball assistant, but I’m not saying I don’t.
Then there’s this whole dream and reality thing in the game. Like, you poke around crime scenes here, then poof, dive into dreamland to read minds or whatever. Oh, but don’t forget the new Escape bits. Locked rooms, puzzles… basically, wear your detective hat and maybe bring snacks, ‘cause you’ll be at it for a while figuring out all these clues.
Mark your calendars or write it on your hand, ‘cause it drops on July 25, 2025. Retail, digital, you name it, it’s there. But really, what caught my attention was the tires — sounding like wet cardboard on ice when cars zoomed by in the trailer. Weird detail, I know, but hey, it’s stuck now.
