You know how sometimes you hear about a game and it just kinda sticks in your brain? That’s Cold VR for me. Like, remember how Superhot VR messed with time? Well, Cold VR takes that and flips it on its head. Instead of things speeding up when you move, everything slows down. Weird, right? But it somehow works. Keeps you on your toes, trying to outsmart those relentless enemies.
So, check this out. There’s this big update coming on June 2nd. I mean, it’s a pretty big deal if you’ve been into Cold VR since it first hit the scene back in February. Five new levels coming right at ya, and not just for PC VR folks—Quest users get in on the action too.
Oh, and you know how sometimes games just tweak a few things and call it a day? Not here. ALLWARE, and the folks publishing with Perp Games, they’re promising a whole new campaign. Listen to this: they’re throwing in better AI for enemies. It’s like they’re determined to keep you guessing, and playing, which is awesome and terrifying all at once, if you ask me.
And they’re not playing around with the intro either. Some kind of massive overhaul is coming to the Main Menu and the intro. Maybe now we’ll be able to jump into things quicker. Because who likes to wait, right?
There’s more too. Ever wanted to catch weapons? Yeah, that’s a thing now. Plus, the visuals are getting a face-lift, and if you’ve been wanting to move around room-scale, well—yep, that’s happening. And bHaptics vests… those are in the mix. Feel every hit, every shot. Kinda intense, right?
And don’t get me started on the PSVR 2 version. Still on its way, tantalizingly close, yet so far.
In the meantime, if you’re eager to dive in, Cold VR’s chilling on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and up, and also on Steam for PC VR. It’ll set you back 20 bucks. Totally worth it if you ask me, even if my wallet might groan a bit.
