Sure, here we go.

Alright, so Hazelight Studios popped out this game, Split Fiction, yeah? Launched on March 6, and somehow it’s already hit like a bazillion copies sold. Well, four million, but still! Anyway, you can snag it on PS5, Xbox, the whole shebang, plus it’s rolling onto the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.
Here’s the kicker though: a bunch of folks are miffed about the Switch 2 version. I saw a post — pretty sure it was Nintendeal or something — and it looked like maybe there’s no actual game card in the box. What?! You pay for a physical copy and still gotta download it? Not cool. It’s happening a lot these days, but still feels like a letdown.
Oh hey, guess what? Split Fiction’s getting the Hollywood treatment. Sydney Sweeney’s gonna star, but who she’s playing is still up in the air. Everyone’s betting on Zoe, which could be neat. That Jon M. Chu dude is directing, but they’re hush-hush about who else is joining the party.
Now, talking ratings — because why not — it scored a whopping 90 on OpenCritic. Makes it one of the top dogs of 2025 so far. Sitting next to big names like Clair Obscur and Blue Prince. Seriously, fans are buzzing with all this good stuff and the movie coming up.
Okay, sidetrack moment: the gameplay! People are loving it because it’s all about co-op. You literally can’t play it solo. Remember It Takes Two? Yup, same deal. It’s meant to be a duo thing. Call it teamwork or a sneaky ploy to get you to buy extra controllers. Who knows.
Anyway, sorry if I went off on a tangent there. Just so much happening, it’s hard to stay on track. Exciting times, though, if you’re into games or movies or both. Here’s hoping the movie doesn’t flop, but hey, who doesn’t love a bit of drama?
