Oh man, where do I even start with this? So, Twisted Pixel—ring a bell? Yup, those folks who got scooped up by Meta a bit back—finally spilled the beans about their shiny new project: Marvel’s Deadpool VR. And yeah, if you’re thinking, “This better be good,” you’re not alone. We’ve got Neil Patrick Harris lending his voice to Deadpool, which is kinda unexpected but hey, why not, right? Dropping sometime this year, but only if you’re on Quest 3 or 3S. Sorry, other VR fans.
Picture this: Deadpool, in all his chaotic glory, gets sucked into Mojoworld. Fancy, huh? And guess what he finds? A get-rich-quick contract. Smart move, buddy. Didn’t even read the small print. Classic. And as you might expect, that lands him in a whirlwind tour across some wild Marvel landscapes, tangling with all sorts of villains. I mean, who thought this was a good idea? But whatever, it’s happening.
The devs at Twisted Pixel? They’ve been sinking their teeth into this—years, on Deadpool being his wild, parkour-loving, fight-crazy self. Think of those chaotic moments in Path of the Warrior, turned up to eleven.
And wait for it, the combat… Oh wow. You could just shoot or stab, but what’s the excitement in that? Punch someone with a grenade in your hand? Yup. Toss your severed arm as a weapon? Crazy, but yes. Shove a bad guy’s face into a propeller? Brutal AF, but it’s there. We’re talking soldiers, demon dogs, lizard things, and worms that would give you nightmares.
Had a chance to try it out, and boy, it was something else. Check out our preview if you’re curious or brave enough. It’s a trip.
