New Character Unveiled in City of the Wolves

In an exciting announcement from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Hokutomaru has been revealed as the final addition to the game’s roster. This news came to light during the EVO showcase, marking Hokutomaru as the latest character to enter this eagerly awaited fighting game adventure.

After a long wait of 26 years, SNK is back with a new installment of the beloved Fatal Fury series. City of the Wolves brings with it a base roster of 17 fighters that fans will recognize, featuring iconic names such as Terry Bogard, Billy Kane, Mai Shiranui, and the central figure Rock Howard. But what truly catches everyone off guard are the surprising new characters included in the lineup—DJ Salvatore Ganacci and the famous soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo, are set to make their debut in the game. As the launch approaches, the developers have now unveiled Hokutomaru as the final character to complete the roster.

SNK has officially confirmed Hokutomaru as the 17th entry in the City of the Wolves base lineup. The announcement was accompanied by a new gameplay trailer that showcased Hokutomaru in action, leaving his wooden sword behind in favor of his hand-to-hand combat skills. This showcase featured notable pro players like Saul “MenaRD” Leonardo, Bryant ‘Smug’ Huggins, and King of Fighters legend Lin “E.T.” Chia-hung, who took the opportunity to exhibit the game’s characters. Fans received a special look at Hokutomaru’s moves, which cleverly merge the fighting styles of the renowned Mai Shiranui and Andy Bogard.

Hokutomaru first appeared in Garou: Mark of the Wolves as a promising disciple under the tutelage of Andy Bogard and Mai Shiranui. His unique combat style reflects the skills of both mentors, combining weapon throws reminiscent of Mai and Andy’s signature Kuhadan attack. Though he no longer wields the wooden sword, Hokutomaru retains his shuriken, now enhanced with additional attacks. According to the storyline, after competing in the Mark of the Wolves tournament, he settled in South Town, aided by Terry’s support. With a new competition on the horizon, he is eager to showcase his progress since his mountain training days.

As Hokutomaru joins the ranks, anticipation builds for the April 24 release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on both PC and consoles. Beyond the initial 17 characters, SNK has exciting plans for future content, including the Season 1 pass that promises to add more fan-favorite fighters like Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li, Ken, and Mr. Big, keeping the combat fresh and engaging.
