Okay, so get this — I stumbled upon this report and for some reason, the bit that really hooked me was about the Black Panther game and the whole Nemesis System thing. You know, Cliffhanger? They got a bunch of folks from Monolith Productions together — the same guys who blew our minds with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel. Anyway, these Cliffhanger dudes were trying to push the Nemesis System, like, way beyond what we’ve seen before. Or something like that.
The Nemesis System, if you missed it, is all about creating enemies that are, like, actually memorable. Instead of just fighting faceless baddies, you had these guys who would hold grudges against Talion, our protagonist. Some would run away, only to come back later all beefed up. Or, you know, you’d defeat them and they’d rise through the Uruk ranks — turning the whole thing into this personal vendetta saga. It added so much spice that I sometimes forgot I was playing a game.
Fast forward to Cliffhanger’s vision, and it feels like jumping into a Black Panther movie. T’Challa, Shuri, and, wow, even Killmonger making a comeback. Just picture them all tussling over the Black Panther title. All while Skrulls — those shifty shape-shifters from the MCU that I honestly can’t get enough of — are staging an alien invasion. That’s like drama on drama with a side of suspense. Skrulls would blend right into the Nemesis vibe, pretending to be your pals till, bam, they stab you in the back. I mean, how wild would that be? Friends today, enemies tomorrow. Keeps you on your toes, right?
But yeah, here we are, wondering why EA couldn’t keep their act together. Seems like this epic Nemesis System revamp won’t see the light of day. Cliffhanger’s team, all that talent and creative juice, now kinda stuck wondering what their next gig is. Makes you think, doesn’t it?
