Yumebau! Ever heard of them? No? Me neither, until today. Anyway—yeah, they just popped out BuildPort Xumia on Quest. It’s like, some crazy mix of Kerbal Space Program and, I dunno, maybe a multiplayer shooter? Imagine building your own spaceship. Like, seriously—from scratch. I barely manage my Ikea desk, so hats off to those who can.
Now, if you’ve got a Quest 3 or 3S, lucky you, you can try it out. It’s all about fast-paced, physics-rich (or maybe driven?) space combat. You craft your own ships—drones, mechs, heck, even an X-Wing (Star Wars fans, rejoice!). But don’t just slap stuff together. You’ve got to balance power or something—making sure it flies and shoots. In the mixed reality world, no less.
What’s the magic sauce, you ask? Modular blocks and pieces—like sensors, thrusters, and weapons. You can noodle around and make things autonomous, but there’s some weird satisfaction in piloting your Frankenstein ship. At least for me, but hey, to each their own.
So, this early access gem? It comes with a 1v1 duel arena. Reminds me of those schoolyard fights but with spaceships. You can drag your buddies into the game too, build together, and maybe even stay friends after—if they don’t blow up your ship.
Oh, almost forgot! They have these ‘Xumi Trials’. Perfect for putting your ship through the wringer in solo challenges. And Yumebau says they’ll add more post-launch—modes, avatars, ship parts… the whole shebang.
If you’re itching to get your hands on it, check out the Horizon Store. It’s a steal at $6 right now (normally $10, but who pays full price these days?). If you end up trying it, drop me a line or just tell your friends, unless you’re too busy saving the universe. Or your couch. Either way.
