Oh man, Argath… that dude from Final Fantasy Tactics has really nailed the art of being obnoxious toward the less fortunate, hasn’t he? I mean, it’s like he leveled up his disdain in the most detailed way possible. No idea why that stands out right now, but there you go.
So, let’s talk games! Sony’s State of Play, yeah, they had some goodies for the Switch crowd. Kind of an unexpected crossover, if you ask me. There’s this whole remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics from way back when — 1997/98, PlayStation era. You’ve probably heard of it. It’s dropping on September 30. Square Enix spilled the beans, saying it’s hitting both the Switch and… wait for it… Switch 2. Seems like they’re really making this one a big deal. I mean, the Ivalice universe is getting some serious love again. I remember the GBA and DS follow-ups, and honestly, having the original on Nintendo? That’s something.
Anyway — oh, right, more games! This one’s a bit retro and kinda intense. Digital Eclipse is working on the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection and, wow, they’re calling it their bloodiest yet. We’re talking the first four numbered Mortal Kombat fighting games and the “Ultimate” version of 3, all in one juicy package. Arcade and console versions both, maybe more. Feels like they’re trying to cover all the bases.
Then there’s this James Bond number, 007 First Light. IO Interactive’s got their hands on it, shooting for a 2026 release and yep, confirmed for Switch 2. Kinda far off, but something to look forward to, I guess.
Oh, and golf fans, heads up! Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots is swinging in on September 5, and guess who’s got a golfing gig? Pac-Man. Seriously. Can’t make this stuff up.
And, hold on — did I mention Ninja Gaiden news? Game Kitchen and DotEmu are dishing out Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound on July 31. The OG NES soundtrack crew, like Keiji Yamagishi and pals, are crafting the tunes. Talk about a blast from the past. Anyway, backtracking here, but that’s what I got.
