Samsung’s Project Moohan XR Headset Could Launch at Unpacked Event Next Month

Samsung Unpacked is, well, it’s like this yearly tech circus, you know? Everyone’s holding their breath for the next shiny gadgets. Rumor has it we’re getting a peek at the new foldables, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7. Plus, the Galaxy Watch 8. But wait—there’s more. This mysterious XR headset, Project Moohan, might grab some spotlight too.

So, Project Moohan pops up last December, right? Announced with Android XR? Wild times. It’s supposed to be the first thing running Google’s XR OS. Samsung teased us with a “coming soon,” but the actual date? Nada. Yet.

This dude ‘Panda Flash’—not sure who comes up with these names—he says we might finally get a date for the headset. Expected it at Google I/O, but nothing. Maybe Samsung’s playing it close to the chest.

Here’s what we think we know: Android XR headset with Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2, some Sony micro-OLED panels (don’t ask the resolution, it’s still a mystery), pancake lenses, automatic IPD adjustment, eye and hand tracking, a magnetic light shield, a removable battery. And maybe VR motion controllers? Who can tell, they’ve kept it under wraps.

And hey, they’re also cooking up some smart glasses. Could be competing with Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
