Ubisoft Postpones Assassin’s Creed Shadows Release Once More

Although this delay is not as extensive, it comes in the wake of Ubisoft’s comprehensive “strategic and execution reviews” intended to counter its recent trend of underwhelming game performances.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to make a significant mark in the franchise by plunging players into feudal Japan. This chapter is turning into a pivotal release for Ubisoft, especially after recent disappointments. Success is crucial for Shadows, and when Ubisoft initially postponed its release to February 14, most fans were understanding. In today’s statement from Ubisoft, while they didn’t specifically cite the crowded schedule as a reason, it seems likely to play a part. Officially, the company stated, “an additional month of development” is being allotted to the Shadows team.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows now has a new release date slated for Thursday, March 20.

Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft’s CEO, emphasized the company’s dedication: “We fully support our team’s ambition to make this the most groundbreaking Assassin’s Creed entry yet. By extending development for another month, we aim to finely integrate player feedback and maximize the game’s potential, ensuring a robust finish to the [financial] year.”
