Why Gamers Are Returning to Star Wars Battlefront 2

Eight years after it dropped, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is having a bit of a revival. I mean, who saw that coming? This game’s been around what feels like forever, and suddenly, Star Wars fans are all over it again. It’s like digging through your closet and finding an old jacket that miraculously fits you better than before. Weird, huh? Anyway—no, wait—so, yeah, there’s a surprising jump in players, and everyone’s buzzing for a fresh game in the series.

Lately, the Star Wars universe is overflowing with stuff. April brought some wild reveals at Japan’s Star Wars Celebration. It’s like, imagine getting caught in the rain without an umbrella, but instead of rain, it’s Star Wars content. Oh! And there were all these crossovers too, because why not? Battlefront 2 coming back might be unexpected, but with all these Star Wars happenings, it kinda just clicks.

And then there’s Andor. Season 2 wrapped on May 13. Way to go, Andor. Seriously, it’s been one of Disney’s biggest hits, and after the finale, guess what? Battlefront 2 got a jolt again. The actor for Wilmon Paak, Muhannad Ben Amor, is even talking about wanting a third Battlefront game. Maybe it’s all this Andor mania, or maybe it’s just the culmination of everything colliding together.

Andor’s season finale was it—the goodbye, the end, kaput. No third season, which is a shame.

Anyway, Revenge of the Sith probably fueled more players to dive back into Battlefront 2, adding to this whole brew of fans.
