Alright, so get this: Hideo Kojima, you know, the legend behind all those crazy games? Yeah, he’s all about having small teams. Which, I guess, surprised me—aren’t big teams all the rage now?
Anyway, he was chatting at some press thing (thanks to Dexerto for the scoop), and he mentioned this new game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It’s got a small team vibe, even though, uh, technically they kinda borrowed hundreds of extra hands from outside companies. So, not sure that counts?
Kojima reminisced a bit, saying, “Back in my day, we had like six folks.” Seriously? Six! Imagine doing everything yourself. Nowadays, though, it’s like, you hand stuff off, and, well, hope it doesn’t turn into chaos.
He got into Sandfall—you know, the peeps with the game—and said something like, “33 people and, oh, a dog!” Totally his jam for teamwork. I mean, a dog probably adds morale or something?
He rambled a bit, talking about how making stuff has blown up in size and scale, like comparing it to a war. Efficient small teams versus grand grandiose creations… or something deep like that.
Honestly, I have no idea why this stuck with me, but it did.
