Overwatch 2 Unveils March 2025 Update

The mid-Season 15 patch for Overwatch 2 has officially gone live, bringing a host of exciting updates to the game. Among the highlights are performance boosts for nearly a dozen heroes, the launch of a second collaboration with LE SSERAFIM, and a fresh Mythic weapon skin for Widowmaker. For dedicated fans, the upcoming weeks promise plenty of action with the Freja trial kicking off on March 21 and the 2018 GOATS meta Overwatch: Classic event commencing on March 25.

Back on February 18, Overwatch 2 made waves with its massive Season 15 update. This game-changing patch introduced new Perks, Loot Boxes, and a reset of competitive ranks, marking one of the largest updates in the game’s history. It was the first update to include content that was showcased at the recent Overwatch 2 Spotlight event.

Flash forward a month, and Overwatch 2 delivers once more with a robust mid-season patch. This update marks the start of the second LE SSERAFIM collaboration featuring an array of new skins for D.Va, Ashe, Mercy, Illari, and Juno. Players can also snag recolors from the initial event in 2023, and for those who missed it before, there’s a chance to unlock the Fawksy James Junkrat skin through in-game challenges. As the week progresses, fans can explore Freja on March 21, leading up to the Overwatch: Classic event starting March 25. This event revisits the iconic September 2018 hero balance, which shaped the GOATS meta through strategic play with heroes like Moira, Brigitte, and Wrecking Ball.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Overwatch 2 update without some hero balance adjustments, and this patch is no exception. Junker Queen, Roadhog, Brigitte, Genji, and Mei are just some of the heroes receiving buffs to make them more competitive choices. Illari’s Solar Rifle also sees refinements, with Quick Melee no longer interrupting the weapon recharge. While most balance changes are buffs, Bastion and Torbjorn are hit with some changes. Bastion’s Self-Repair Perk now operates using a resource meter, while Torbjorn’s Turret undergoes a reduction in health and damage, though it benefits from the Craftsman Minor Perk, restoring health to its previous levels.
