Okay, so listen… Resident Evil Requiem. Yeah, that game everyone’s been losing their minds over. New chapter, new hero or whatever, and suddenly it’s all psychological horror vibes. A shake-up, right? But the setting—oh man, it might actually make the monsters even weirder this time around.
That trailer they dropped? Some wild stuff hidden in there. Like, there’s this shot of Raccoon City from way up high, showing where they, I dunno, decided to drop this massive thermobaric bomb. Not a nuclear one, thank goodness, but still super deadly. Now, thinking about it, Raccoon City didn’t get nuked, but who’s to say those infected folks didn’t turn into absolute freaks?
And yeah, about the RPD station—totally trashed now, bomb crater and all. No one’s set foot in Raccoon City since, like, forever. The excitement (or dread?) of maybe revisiting this ghost town as a player is real. Imagine… a wasteland full of all kinds of nightmare fuel – mutated zombies ready to pounce. And Grace, is she really the star here? Enter rumors: Leon S. Kennedy might be back. Total throwback to his rookie nightmares.
No matter who you’re playing, whether it’s Grace or Leon making a detour to the ruins of Raccoon City, the infected are probably way more terrifying now. Resident Evil’s shown us before—like in RE7 and RE Village—they’re not shy about dialing up the horror. Sure, this time it’s T-Virus and not the Mold, but hey, who says we can’t see some brutal transformations?
Oh, this Grace Ashcroft character—she’s got a backstory too. Works for the FBI and has a mission at Wrenwood Hotel, same place her mom got murdered. Spooky tie-ins, right?
Quick shoutout: Resident Evil Requiem lands February 27, 2026. Less than a year! It stood out at Summer Game Fest like a sore thumb, but in a good way. Speculating here, but if players get to wander through Raccoon City’s wasteland again, you bet there’s gonna be some terrifying baddies lurking around every corner.
Anyway, cross your fingers for more surprises. Maybe? Capcom loves that. The game’s dropping on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Set your countdowns!
