Okay, so there’s this game called STARVAULT by Theia Games—gotta admit, the name’s kinda cool, right? Anyway, it’s this VR battle thingy that’s in open beta on Quest now. Reminds me of some old-school MOBA but with a VR twist. You get to be part of these 5v5 battles. Nine heroes to pick from, each doing their own weird stuff. Sometimes I wonder if they just threw in a bunch of ideas and said, “Yeah, let’s go with that!”
The game’s got you taking down lanes, knocking over towers, and grabbing enemy bases. Typical MOBA stuff, but you’re in VR so it feels a bit like, I dunno, being in some sci-fi war zone. Oh, and you gotta deal with these little creep creatures—I always found that name odd—farm them for XP and credits, so you get cooler stuff for the next game. Why do they call it “farming” anyway? Nobody’s growing anything.
Now, the VR angle, it makes it feel a bit like HALO, which I guess is good if you’re into that. All that zipping around with portals and jump pads—could make you dizzy or super hyped, depends on the day.
They’re still in early development, which is fancy talk for “expect some bugs.” But hey, it’s free right now, so no reason not to dive in. Sometimes I feel like they’re gonna surprise us with microtransactions, even though they say they won’t. We’ll see.
Supposedly, they’re pushing for an Early Access release in Summer 2025. Plans for new heroes and all that jazz. Not gonna lie, I hope they don’t mess it up. Oh, and they keep saying they’ll never do pay-to-win. Fingers crossed they stick to it!
Full launch set for early 2026. More heroes, more modes—they seem real ambitious. They dream of STARVAULT becoming a big VR esport thing. I dunno, maybe they’re onto something. For now, you can play it on Quest 2—and who knows? You might just love it—or get motion sick. Either way, it’s an adventure!
