Man, so here’s the deal with Genshin Impact—this game everyone seems to love except maybe your grandma. Okay, so they’re doing this big shake-up, right? And, straight up, if you’ve got an old potato of a device, you might be outta luck soon. Particularly if you’re kicking it old school with a PlayStation 4. Yep, they’re pulling the plug on PS4 support. Why, you ask? Well, apparently, the hardware’s a bit ancient. Who knew?
Anyway, MiHoYo (they’re the folks behind the game, in case you’re living under a rock) spilled the beans earlier this week. Now, the PS5 players can still chill because they’re good to go. But for PS4, we’re talking phase-out city. First, they’re yanking it from the PlayStation Store this September 10th. If you’ve downloaded it before, you’re golden—or at least, you can still snag it from your library. Small wins, I guess.
Then comes February 25, 2026. Mark your calendars—or don’t, if you’re like me and forget everything—not like you’ll be buying anything in-game on PS4 those days. Post that, August 4, 2026, is like the doomsday clock ticking down for PS4 users. Support just evaporates. Game over, folks.
Meanwhile, PC and mobile aren’t off the hook. Yep, they’re cranking up the specs requirements. It’s like they want to separate the gaming beasts from the gaming puppies. Devices below the new bar might still run the game, but they’re saying performance issues. Seriously, your choice: upgrade or lag behind.
Oh, speaking of upgrades, anyone catch the latest 5.8 update? Ineffa’s here and bringing some friends. A little reunion party with Citlali and Mualani. If you’re thinking of jumping back in—props to you—check out the build tips. All this tech babble got me spinning, but hey, maybe you’re into that sort of thing.
So here we are, navigating the tech world’s crazy roller-coaster. Hold on tight, my fellow gamers, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.
