Whoa, okay. So, there’s this new VR thing called Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist. Or is it Eldramoor? Anyway, it’s this mystical-sounding game trying to get off the ground on Kickstarter. Apparently, it’s like this comeback for a game called Orbus VR, which, honestly, I never played, but it shut down, so… why not bring it back, right? But yeah, Eldramoor’s gearing up for Quest 3 and SteamVR headsets, which sounds techy and cool, I guess?
What’s interesting is the folks making it, Resolute Games, are basically ex-fans of Orbus. So it’s like when your favorite band breaks up, and then the fans start their own band. Kind of rad, if you think about it. They kicked things off in February 2024.
Oh, and they paint quite the picture of this game: it’s like this magical land where everyone fits in, but, surprise, there’s some lurking darkness or whatever. Classic fantasy plot, but hey, it works. There’s this legendary guy, Eldranis—total hero type. And you’re supposed to follow him or become him or something along those lines.
They’re planning all these classes like Warrior and Mage, standard stuff, but then there are tavern games, too. Mini-games, co-op quests, and raid battles. PvP zones if you’re into that sort of thing. There’s even fishing, foraging, and more. Who knew digital artisanry could be a thing?
Now, here’s the kicker—no clue what the funding tiers are looking like yet. But Lynn M. Souza, who’s, I guess, the head honcho, said they’re aiming for this same startup goal as some game called Zenith—$25,000-ish. But honestly, isn’t every VR MMORPG aiming to hit big and only a few actually do? Just saying.
Orbus VR’s gone, Zenith’s had its struggles with money stuff, yet there’s Ilysia VR still kicking—another Kickstarter success story, taxidermying issues aside. If you’re into these games, maybe you already know this stuff, but it seemed worth mentioning.
Anyway, they’re hoping to get Eldramoor out by December 2026, with testing phases sprinkled in before that. It’s like this long-term relationship—you’re in it for the long haul. June 24th is when this Kickstarter kicks off, and it’s running for a month until July 24th. There’s also a fancy Steam page up if you’re curious. So yeah, virtual worlds await.
